South Glens Falls CSD is completing a $57.8 million capital project to advance and improve instructional programming, health and safety, ADA compliance, security measures, energy efficiencies, and technology infrastructure in its school facilities
The district-wide capital project includes an eight-classroom addition at the high school and a six-classroom addition at Ballard Elementary School to accommodate the growing student population. The project also features expanded library media centers and renovations to music and art classrooms at Ballard and Tanglewood Elementary Schools, two new tennis courts, a basketball court, and a resurfaced track.
Site and building maintenance improvements include new roofing, windows, doors and flooring across all six school buildings. A combined transportation and operations/maintenance facility was constructed on the site of the lower bus garage on Harrison Avenue to address health and safety concerns and update and enlarge the space.

High School

Science Addition
An eight classroom addition at the high school provided enlarged chemistry, biology, and physics classrooms. Each classroom features new lab tables, desks and casework, as well as a "greenhouse corner" suitable for hands-on learning.

Bus Loop
The new bus loop at the high school improves traffic flow and safety, creating a more efficient and organized arrival and dismissal process for students and staff.

Tennis Courts
Thehigh school's tennis courts have been upgraded and given a high-quality playing surface for students and athletes to practice and compete.

Lobby
The redesigned lobby at Oliver W. Winch Middle School creates a more open and welcoming entryway, featuring sleek display cases and a spacious layout that improves flow and accessibility.

Large Group Instruction
The Large Group Instruction room features retractable seating for over 300 students, allowing the space to adapt for a variety of uses, from presentations and performances to collaborative learning and events.

Library Renovation
The library was refreshed to create a more modern, inviting, and functional space for students to read, learn, and collaborate.

Updated Classrooms
Classrooms at Oliver W. Winch Middle School were refreshed to enhance the learning environment, now featuring whiteboards and smart boards to support interactive and collaborative instruction.

Main Office
The newly updated Main Office now offers improved security and functionality, with the redesigned layout better supporting the flow of the school. The relocation of the Main Office and Guidance Center enhances accessibility and ensures a more intuitive placement for both spaces.

Guidance Center
The renovated Guidance Center features a refreshed look and an improved layout, relocated for better accessibility and a smoother flow within the school.

Nurses Office
The renovated Nurse’s Office provides an updated, comfortable, and functional space to better support student health and well-being.
Elementary Schools

Classroom Addition
The addition at Ballard Elementary added six new 21st century classrooms, equipped with multiple teaching walls and various seating styles to easily reconfigure the space. Modern LED lighting automatically adjusts based on the amount of natural light a room receives, enhancing energy efficiency and cost savings.

STEAM Classroom
Renovations to Tanglewood Elementary School's media center included a new makerspace with views into the library allows students to explore their natural curiosity and engage with various technologies.

Library
The renovated library at Tanglewood Elementary School has been transformed into a modern, collaborative media center, creating a dynamic space for students to read, explore, and engage in interactive learning
Transportation Center
A combined transportation and operations/maintenance facility centralized the district's facilities department and provided administrative, service and maintenance improvements. Site work at the high school constructed a separate drop off area and dedicated bus lane to alleviate congestion and improve safety.
