2021 CAPITAL PROJECT

The $12.7 million capital project, approved by voters in December 2021, at Hoosic Valley CSD focuses largely on educational space renovations and additions designed to enhance academic programming in all three buildings.

Library/Media Center

Renovations and a reconfiguration of the existing library focus on creating a more social atmosphere. Shorter bookshelves, a variety of furniture options, warm finishes, and increased natural light will transform the space into a more comfortable and inviting environment.

Maker Space

A new makerspace located off the library/media center will provide a versatile space where classes or small groups of students can work collaboratively and be creative.

Multi-Purpose Room

The multi-purpose room, which can also be accessed from the library, will support meetings, lectures, or conferences. The ability to easily add or remove furniture allows the space to be reconfigured based on specific needs.

Wellness Center

Student health and wellness is an important consideration of the capital project. The athletic side of the high school building will feature a new wellness center with a weight room to support fitness instruction.

Main Entrance Addition

The existing main entrance will be relocated with a building addition to support the new main office, security, and guidance suite spaces.

Project Scope

In December 2021, voters approved a $12.7 million capital project designed to address health and safety, educational programming, athletics, building infrastructure, and site concerns at all 3 buildings.

At the forefront of the project improvements to educational spaces to bring district facilities into the 21st century. Improvements include renovations to the auditorium, band and music classrooms, STEAM labs, art classrooms, and science classrooms. Underutilized spaces will receive renovations to create collaborative workshop/makerspace areas.

CSArch is also providing improvements to building infrastructure and health and safety at the elementary school, Jr.-Sr. high school, and transportation building to upgrade flooring, doors, toilet rooms, boilers, and fire alarm systems.
