Academy of the Holy Names Celebrates New Classroom Addition

9.19.2019

On Wednesday September 18, the Academy of the Holy Names held a ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony to celebrate the opening of St. Joseph's Hall, a new 21st century classroom addition.

Joined by students, faculty, alumni, leaders and community members, the ceremony marked an exciting chapter for the school, as this $2.5 million project is one of the largest capital investments in its 134 year history.

"We are proud to design spaces that empower young women," said Tina Mesiti-Céas, Executive Principal at CSArch and former student at the Academy of the Holy Names. "The enthusiasm and support shown by members of the community made the event even more special."

Designed by CSArch, the classroom addition is part of Phase 1 of the capital project, and includes several cutting-edge classrooms, a fully-equipped physics lab, technology classroom and break-out rooms, with state-of-the-art technologies to provide new opportunities for learning. The remaining scope will construct a new science wing and performing arts center, create a Learning Commons to facilitate collaborative learning, as well as improve the main entry and building façade.

Once completed, the new and renovated spaces will enhance and expand the facility to prepare students to be high achievers and leaders in their careers, communities and society.
